“SEO is a long process and must be 100% natural”
It takes a little more than on page SEO to bring traffic to a webpage. Off page SEO is overlooked during content creation, yet it contributes immensely to the performance and ranking of a webpage.
Unlike on page SEO which focuses on the webpage layout, off page SEO focuses on external practices which can be used to increase traffic. After working on various projects, we were able to identify five critical off page SEO practices.
We are living in the digital era, where everything occurs on the internet. SEO is transitioning towards social media platforms. Some of our highly ranked webpages have a high presence on social media. We use excellent copywriting skills, graphics, and video ads to woo prospects. They use short but persuasive copy which makes the product or service being offered, irresistible.
Content that gets more clicks on social media ranks higher on search engines. Most people also notice new products when they scroll through social media accounts. We also noticed that content shared through the various social media platforms gets indexed faster than ones submitted manually.
Backlinks are a sure way to increase the traffic on a webpage. A backlink refers to an external link that links to your webpage. For instance, if someone inserts our website’s link on their website, we get a backlink. The advantage of backlinks is that they bring passive traffic to a webpage.
Some people result in black SEO, such as buying backlinks when they fail to get organic backlinks. This is a hazardous method which results in websites ending up with spammy backlinks.
We use two strategies to get backlinks.
Requesting other sites to link back
We are content management aficionados. So, we gather data, analyze it, write down content, edit, proofread, and upload content on websites and blogs. What sets us apart from other content managers is that we take time to observe what the trendsetters in the project’s niche give much attention to.
Writing quality content
The easiest way to get backlinks from authoritative sites is by writing compelling content. Before linking back to your webpage, authoritative websites first scan through your content to see if it is worth linking back to. Our dedication to quality content gives competitors no option but to link back.
Domain authority is essential to websites. It refers to how a website/blog performs and is measured on a scale of 1 to 100. Several factors determine the domain authority of a website. These include; number of backlinks, 404 pages, and the age of the website. Older sites get more preference during ranking. However, we were able to rank new websites higher than older websites. The main reason why we were able to rank higher is that we wrote high-quality content.
Another way of creating a good off page SEO is by guest posting. When our website was new, we posted our content on guest blogs. The guest blogs allowed us to link our website in the content. Even though we are an established entity, we still blog in authoritative sites.
The advantage of guest blogging is that it pulls a lot of traffic to your website. The readers see a group of professionals who are generous enough to share information on another website. We write information backed by statistics, catchy headline, and informative content.
We link different webpages in the guest post, which increases the traffic to the webpages. It also gives readers more time to go through the article and know our prowess better. When replying to comments in the guest post, we also share links from time to time. However, we avoid choking the readers with links since it might sound like spam.
The use of RSS Subscription Box
The Rich Site Summary, which is commonly known as RSS, refers to a unique feature which requires website visitors to sign up to email list. Memorizing the name of a website can become daunting. To avoid this, we use the RSS box for people to subscribe. To make the RSS more effective, we keep on uploading new information to the website. Once there is a new post, subscribers promptly receive a notification.
The use of RSS is a sure way to generate more traffic and subsequent CTR. Since Google uses the number of clicks as a factor for ranking webpages, it becomes easy for us to rank in as many webpages as possible. Before uploading a new post, we do in-depth research to ensure that it meets the threshold of on page SEO since there is a relation between off page and on page SEO.
The current developments in off page SEO have helped us to give our clients the best services as possible. We intertwine the off page and on page strategies to optimize the ranking of webpages. The cutthroat competition to rank higher is not a threat since we have mechanisms in place.
The off page SEO is a game-changer in the ranking of websites; thus, on page SEO will not be enough to rank high in search engines.
